Introducing David Voth...

Born and raised in Chilliwack, David has been playing violin since he was three and teaching for the past twenty-five years. He performs regularly in the area and has served as concertmaster of both the Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra and the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra. As conductor and co-founder of the Chilliwack Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (2008 - 2014), David has seen the inspiration and camaraderie that ensemble playing provides for young musicians. His own teacher, Walter Neufeld, was known for an excellent string orchestra in Abbotsford. Many Fraser Valley musicians and teachers were able to get their start in that orchestra and David is dedicated to continuing this tradition of high calibre instruction in Chilliwack. When he is not teaching, performing or conducting, David loves spending time with his wife and 3 children.

Introducing Johann Louwersheimer...

In 1990 Maestro Louwersheimer received an internationally advertised scholarship to pursue his doctoral studies in conducting at the University of Washington with world renowned Maestro Peter Eros. While in Seattle, Maestro Louwersheimer initiated the University Summer Orchestra program and toured with the Washington University Symphony. Since then, he has served as artistic director of the Abbotsford Symphony Orchestra (which he founded) and the Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra. He is currently artistic director of both the Handel Society in Surrey and the Octava Chamber Orchestra in Seattle. Maestro Louwersheimer received the Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Abbotsford Rotary Club in 2007 for his commitment to promoting music in the community and schools.

"Hearing all the different instruments come together to play music that is challenging, fun and entertaining is way better than playing alone."
