Auditions are important and valuable to both the conductors and the auditioners. For us, auditions help to evaluate the level of playing for the student as well as to see what techniques that they have learned so far in their musical career. Without the auditions, it is difficult for the conductors to help the musicians individually to enhance their musical abilities. For the auditioners, playing in an audition helps them work through the nerves of playing in front of their peers as well as gives them something to work on to further their abilities. Therefore, it is important that all students auditioning work dilligently to prepare their pieces.
